Nissan Finds an Interesting Way to Enter the Culinary Industry

All it takes is one trip to the Big Apple to know that food vending trucks are an established part of the city's culture. People visit these establishments every day to get well-made food on the go, and many larger companies are attempting to capitalize on it. For instance, you can download an app for the iPhone that helps people find the best of the best in mobile-vended food, while the Food Network has even launched a show promoting various food trucks throughout NYC.
According to the New York City Food Truck Association, "They [food trucks] stimulate culinary innovation, draw tourists, energize the streets and are an important part of the social fabric of the city".1 And seeing as how Nissan is already providing New York with the Taxi of Tomorrow in the form of their NV 200 van, it only makes sense that the company would want to further contribute to the city and its culture.
See what we're getting at? We here at Curry Nissan are referring to the Japanese automaker's decision to develop several new concept food trucks, which were recently shown off at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. These vehicles were built on the platform of the larger Nissan NV 1500 van, and they feature a wide range of enhancements that make them ideal for any food vendor in the city.
For instance, the vehicle boasts fold-out serving windows, work counters, and an interchangeable kitchenette. And the fact that they're based on the NV 1500 means that they'll be efficient, safe, reliable, and perhaps most important for these vendors' image: stylish.
Whether or not these new vans will catch on has yet to be seen, but we're guessing that they're likely to be a big hit. Of course, Nissan also realizes that many of you out there are not in the market for a food-vending truck, which is why we carry a wide range of new Nissan models right here at 2050 US Highway 130 Monmouth Junction, NJ 0885.
