"Innovation for the extreme"1 is but one aspect of the Nissan Xterra that makes it such a thrill to drive. The Xterra launched 11 years ago, and it seems as though it gets a little better with each passing model. That's why today, we here at Acme Nissan would like to go over what can be expected from the Xterra in its 2012 model year.
First things first: Those of you who love the Xterra for its rock-solid body and "multi-flex" interior need not worry, for it's not going anywhere. Rather, it will contnue to include a wide range of usable cargo space and convenience features, such as a Utili-Track cargo carrying system, tie-down channel system (perfect for securing bike racks and other accessories), 10 cargo hooks, available Easy Clean cargo area and available built-in first-aid kit.
But the 2012 Nissan Xterra wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't every bit as intelligent as it was rugged. That's why the Japanese automaker has opted to equip it with Bluetooth Hands-Free phone system; XM Satellite Radio (on select models, subscription not included); optional 300-watt, eight-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system with subwoofer MPS/WMA compatibility, AUX-in jax, and steering-wheel mounted controls.
Meanwhile, the 2012 Nissan Xterra exterior makes a large statement through some subtle changes. It features flared fenders, aggressive-looking hood and headlamps, and signature Nissan SUV-style angled strut grill. Throw in a roof rack and a set of built in step to the rear bumper to give drivers a lift when loading, and it's easy to see why the Xterra is the SUV to get just about any job done right.
Of course, the most enticing feature of the 2012 Nissan Xterra is our minds is still the two new exterior paint options: Metallic Blue and Brilliant Silver. Regardless of why you're interested in the upcoming Xterra, one thing remains clear, this is one ride that most other SUVs on the road will have a hard time matching the quality of.
