While the Nissan Cube was only introduced to the U.S. market a couple of years ago, the vehicle was already in its third generation. That's because the urban commuter has been a big hit around the world for years, and it turns out we were a little slow catching the bandwagon. But lucky for us, it doesn't matter how long we've been spotting those boxy rides on wheels on the streets of the greater Monmouth Junction for; Nissan is planning to release the fourth generation Cube in the United States, along with the rest of the world around the same time.
More specifically, we here at Acme Nissan are talking about the Japanese automaker's decision to shake things up going into the 2012 model year for the Cube. The vehicle will be built on the lauded B-Platform, which promises to pack a 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder under the hood. Meanwhile, drivers will have the choice of either an Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) or 6-speed manual transmission to help it attain a combined 31 mpg rating.
Options for the 2012 Cube include an aerodynamic body kit, upgraded wheels, a 20-color interior lighting kit, and even shag dash topper that will continue to define the unique interior's overall experience.
Curious how much this will set you back? 2012 Nissan Cube pricing is set to start at $14,980 MSRP, and from there you can start adding the options to customize your ride.
Of course, we realize that the unconventional styling of the Cube might not be for everyone, which is why we encourage you to check out the other new Nissan models that we carry here at 2050 US Highway 130 Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852.
