The debut of the 2013 Nissan Altima was much ballyhooed around the nation with its new redesign that makes the mid-sized sedan sleeker than ever. The new Altima boasts a new shape from head to toe, featuring a streamlined front end with sharp, flowing body lines going back to a refreshed back end of the vehicle. According to estimates from Cars.com, a large amount of drivers throughout the nation are expected to be interested in the Altima too. In the report, Cars.com predicts a sales spike of 39-percent for the 2013 Altima, which would be about 10-percent higher than the industry norms for a newly revamped vehicle.

Drawing its numbers from vast amounts of sales data on the current Altima against its main competition, the Camry, allows Cars.com to come to its conclusion. Cars.com notes that last year, though the Camry outsold the Altima, Nissan narrowed the gap in 2012 to fewer than 10,000, which means the race for being one of the most popular cars in America will be hotly contested starting in July.
